Marijuana Prevention for High School Kids, Successes
The good news is that drug prevention education does and is working to prevent kids from the damage of narcotics. Here are some more successes from high school students after a marijuana prevention education talk by Narconon Vancouver Society:
3) How can you use what you learned?
- I can use what I learned by not taking drugs because I know what they can do to me.
- Teach others who do not know what drugs do to their body. The more people aware the better
- not ‘promote’ drugs
- I can educate other people
- I can make decisions based on what I know
- avoid getting addicted & help my friends who are on drugs & inform them with the facts I learned
- I can consider before falling to peer pressure by seeing the consequences
- learn from other people’s mistakes so you don’t end up doing them
- Encourage anyone who did drugs before to stop
Narconon’s drug prevention education talk on marijuana and other drugs is effective because the prevention talks
- don’t encourage or promote drug use
- don’t tell the kids what to think but lets them come up with their own conclusions
- doesn’t buy into the permissive belief that kids will use drugs so get them to use safely
- tells kids the truth about drugs in a fun and interesting way that they can relate to
