WHAT KIDS HAVE TO SAY AFTER HEARING ONE NARCONON 'TRUTH ABOUT DRUGS' TALK:

"I thought the talk was excellent! It really opened up my eyes to all the harm ecstasy and even marijuana can do to the brain. Now I can stop my friends from using "e", because most of them seem to have the perception that it is not that harmful of a drug. I can also attempt to make my friends who do "e" realize the harm and stop using the drug."

"I thought the talk was great. I think this because it covered everything that I was wondering about. It also talked me out of trying E."

"It was informative, the comparisons to actual experience was good. It was spoken in sentences with words we UNDERSTOOD!!!"

GRADE 8
"I thought is was very educational in a fun way! It wasn't boring. We learnt a lot by having fun with it! It was very informative."

"I can use it (what I learned) to make decisions about drugs and stand up for my opinions about them."

"I thought that it was great how you were able to come and talk to us about your experience, it is way more effective if you yourself have done it (drugs) and explained how it affected you rather than, someone who just knows a lot about it and hasn't tried it."

"I will tell friends that are into it (ecstasy) what can happen and try to help them become drug-free."

"I thought it was fun and exciting and not boring because you had a lot of examples which made me understand better."

Did your thoughts about drugs change after hearing the talk?

"Yes they did. I used to think well it's okay if I try it once but I would never say that again."

"Yes! Before the talk I was thinking of trying drugs once just to see the results but he said even the first time you try it, it ruins a brain cell which is really bad."

"Yes! I totally have NO interest in even trying it. Before these talks people were trying to pressure me into things and I believe it (talks) gave me the power to say NO."
