Olympic dreams are about striving to overcome all obstacles toward the goal of victory. What might our youth be like if they were encouraged and pushed to achieve great goals, instead or aiming only at mediocrity and sometimes missing that.

Drug abuse has resulted in great misery, death and family destruction.

Achieving drug-free standards of excellence in sports and in one’s personal life, one sets a better standard for others to aspire to. Doping is an easy and often dangerous way to attempt momentary gain and risk long-term damage.

Olympic competition selects out the best athletes in the world. These competitors are leaders and role models representing outstanding achievement in athletic performance.

Honesty, integrity and being drug-free set some of the standards of Olympic virtue and ethics. The Olympics are far more than a two week sports competition. The Olympics are a celebration of people’s indomitable spirit to achieve greater accomplishments despite limitations that other’s might succumb to.

The founder of the Narconon program, William Benitez said this about overcoming temptations to run away from the difficulties in living.

“I found that if a person rehabilitated and applied certain abilities, that person could persevere toward goals set, confront life, isolate problems and resolve them, communicate with life, be responsible and set ethical standards, and function within the band of certainty.” Benitez

Drug Prevention Education

When kids and young adults have goals they truly want to achieve and are assisted in arriving at those objectives, a flame of passion is lit underneath them. Setting big goals, especially in athletic achievement, gives kids something to keep them on the right track.

No one should ever say keeping one’s word and integrity is an easy task. Yet character is determined by being true to ones goals and oneself. Weakness may make us more acceptable to those who fail in achieving tough targets, but who wants to fail?

The Vancouver / Whistler Olympics in 2010 should be a held up as a torch to guide anyone who wants to be more than ‘normal’ or ‘average’.
Vancouver, BC is experiencing gang violence fueled by drug and crime money. How did this problem get so out of hand? What can parents and families do about it before it destroys the family.

Vancouver, BC appears to be the center of a drug and crime turf war. Many long-time Vancouverites are asking, “What is happening to my city?” As a 40 year resident in Greater Vancouver, I’m wondering if these acts of violence are a manifestation of societal decay, loose drug laws and an apathetic community.

Greater Vancouver — War Zone in The Home

I’ve been called by West Vancouver, North Van, Kerrisdale and Quilchena home owners whose young adult children were extorting their parents for protection in their own homes. In one case a West Van mom had her two boys threaten to kill themselves if she would interfere with the crack use.

A Quilchena family was kept in fear of having to bend their will to their son who would show up with a new BMW in their parking lot if mom and dad wouldn’t buy the kid one for himself. He didn’t work or go to school. But he placed his own and his family’s welfare in jeopardy for flash.

A North Van mother knew her son was working a grow op while his girl friend was pregnant with her soon to be grand child. If mom didn’t pay off his drug debts to the cocaine dealers who were after him, he was threatening suicide.

If this sounds like fairy tails to you, no it’s deadly real. These are case histories of people I worked with. All these kids are holding their families as moral hostages in a game of corruption which began long before then.

Gangs and Materialism — Drug Use is Sabotaging Character

Materialism is being taught on every TV, mall and in every University, morality is based on material possessions and money. If you are in doubt about this, ask how many ethics, character and philosophy courses are available in any public high school today. If you’re hoping for watered-down Disney ethics to do the trick, you’d better get some training yourself.

Gangs recruit kids from the age of 10 and 11 in elementary schools. These are the same tactics that the the Hitler Youth would recruit naive younger people — they used the stolen property and money from the neighbors, Jews at that time. Today gangs use drug, prostitution and stolen property money to ‘buy’ cooperation. But the faster way is for gang members to apply peer pressure, gang and bullying tactics to threaten or ‘protect’ vulnerable kids.

Ethics and Character Leadership

Values and morals can be taught. In fact, the final component of the Narconon rehab program is a common sense guide to better living called ‘The Way to Happiness’. This booklet, when applied has changed hardened criminals into peaceful and lawabiding citizens. Teaching values and successful strategies of succeeding in living can also bring a young person back to being themselves.

Videos and manuals. See our Narconon videos or the index for further videos on drug rehab.

If addiction has already taken hold of your son or daughter, call us about our rehab program. It gets over 75% long-term success rate and is available for 18 year olds and up.

The best Demand Reduction programs focus on health, both mental and physical. Natural health begins with an understanding of how nutrition, the body and mind all play roles in one's well being. Most won't even realize that their diet is destroying or helping their attitude and happiness. It's time to change that condition.

As a society, we can demand reduction from damaging drugs by learning how to achieve physical and mental health

Drugs and alcohol abuse are causing societal problems like violence, crime, disease and stupidity. People believed they could feel different, escape or block-out an unwanted experience. Drugs and alcohol don’t effectively do any of these things, but they temporarily change how the body and mind works.

One function of the body and mind is to be a vessel and portal to survive with, gain what pleasure and happiness we can and hopefully to share those gifts with others. Success and health are rewards for right living. Most want these gifts.

When attacked or losing in this game of survival, the body and mind tend to attempt destruction of the opposition, the problem and eventually itself when no other avenue is possible. And so individuals who are not skilled in living and are loosing, seek to destroy perceived opposition or end up destroying themselves.

Here’s The Problem:

If a person doesn’t know how and why the body feels good or bad and how to influence it in a healthy way, they look for odd solutions

Not understanding how their own mind works, people tend to shut out the unwanted communication that it relays

Having no effective solutions (they think) available to them, eventually drugs / alcohol will be offered to them as a way to change how they think and feel

Health and Food

Many destructive and unwell attitudes and mental conditions are caused by the damage caused by too much sugar, junk food and food additives like color to the delicate nutritional balance worked at by the body and mind

Most people don’t eat a natural diet. They eat and drink what’s available and food they are addicted to

People who have the nutritional education of field mice are eating nutrition-less food products and thinking it’s a good idea. These people are all around you. Many fill the jails and support groups

Simply reducing sweet things and carbs from your diet could radically improve your health attitude, intelligence and vitality

The Human Mind

The mind is mostly a stimulus response mechanism. Try thinking of a cat and not seeing a picture. Here’s the problem, whether you see a picture or not the mind is composed of dozens of recorded perceptions and evaluations of all experience and past thought

The mind thinks in differences, similarities and identities (sees things the same)

For those who aren’t very analytical when it comes to emotions or their hostilities, this presents a problem: an enemy is associated with many attributes and so, others could be judged an enemy by those same ill attributes

What if one’s family, friends or environment had attributes that triggered emotional dislike and the person acted that out? The person them self would try to restrain or attack itself or the things it thought were against it

Learning how to use one’s mind to see and create differences in situations is the high point of creativity.
Finding similarities and identical qualities has more to do with logic and evaluation.

Drugs corrupt one’s mind with false and misleading reactions to life situations. Drugs also poison the body or hijack the brain and body and put it into unnaturally stressful conditions.

Drugs Including Alcohol

Act like poisons by falsely suppressing or stimulating the body and brain into reacting in not normal ways

Hijack the body and use up or waste all the valuable nutrients stored up to make important repairs and proper function

Set off massive alerts in the brain like an allergy attack that makes people lethargic, uncaring, disconnected, violent, hateful, stupid, etc

Shut off specific feelings, emotions and perceptions

Learning about nutrition from a knowledgeable person in a nutritional, health food or other practice can lead you toward great health and happiness.

Learning about how the mind actually functions can move you toward freedom and major success.

Narconon Videos for your community, Greater Vancouver, BC

Your community has a drug demand problem. That means kids are demanding drugs and getting them through friends or dealers.

WHY?

We found out why kids and adults turn to drugs and become regular users.

* Balanced truthful information about drugs was NEVER available to them *

If you have never used drugs or even if you have, parents and families lack the know how or skill to get the facts across to their own kids and their kid’s friends.

What’s the Solution?

We have created several videos and DVDs intended for specific age groups that have proven to work and be effective to prevent drug experimenting and continued misuse.

* What if you could get people who understood how kids think and who actually understood how drugs worked and knew how to talk with kids to discourage them from trying or using drugs?

That’s exactly what we’ve done!

All our videos feature live presentation in schools that KIDS totally relate to.

Kids want to listen to former drug users or drug addicts. They want to get their questions answered that matter to them. Such as:

Why do people think about drugs long after they’ve used them?

Do drugs stay in the body longer than 30 days?

Where is the most effective place to advertise drugs and why don’t most people even realized they are being sold drugs when it is done there?
