Drug Education on marijuana is best delivered to kids before they've smoked up. After they've smoked up, learning impairment is rapid and drug education efforts need to compensate for this.

Educating kids about potential dangers or problems with smoking marijuana is simple if the drug education reaches the person early on. Why would drug education be more difficult after a person has already engaged in some or lots of marijuana smoking?

Smoking marijuana significantly affects learning capacity and ability. While one could get into brain science to explain why this is, brain science isn’t necessary to observe the obvious. The kid will look at you with a sort of blank, giddy or even stupid look on their face while you explain that smoking weed impairs learning.

Drug Education on marijuana is best delivered to kids before they’ve smoked up. After they’ve smoked up, learning impairment is rapid and drug education efforts need to compensate for this.

Drug Education About Marijuana

Getting through the tons of drug promotion that is generated by NORML, Cannabis Culture & High Times magazines seems to be a battle of volume. Dope peddlers, pushers, promoters have one goal in common: make drugs, specifically recreational use of drugs like marijuana more popular. That way the drug pusher is a harder target to find in the crowd.

Effective drug education will simple detail the actual ingredients, gases produced, toxic compounds found in marijuana and marijuana smoke. The key to making a drug education talk on marijuana real to kids is to bring it right down to their personal level. Their body, their brain, their health, their cells, their neurons, their goals and how marijuana use affects those directly and indirectly.

I never exaggerate a bad effect and I never promote drug use. I clearly show and explain how drugs like marijuana are going to effect them short and long term. I also tell them how to undo the damaging effects of drug abuse in my drug education talks.
