I always enjoy delivering drug prevention education talks to Metro Vancouver schools. Recently I was out in the valley and spoke with 200 kids and some adults about the dangers of drugs. I focused on the ‘teenage’ drugs like weed, X and alcohol.

The subject of the 4 talks I did was ‘Drugs & the Body’. The hour long Narconon drug prevention education talk focuses on how long drugs stay in the body, how they effect people’s thoughts, behaviors and health. The worst problems about drug use is the longer term consequences that come back to bite you later, often when least expected.

The high school students gained some simple, memorable and useful understandings about how their bodies work. The drug education talk on ‘Drugs in the Body’ give students a self realization that drugs are far more dangerous than they realized. Some students decided to quit using drugs altogether. Other students strengthened their resolve to avoid drugs at all costs.

All the students enjoyed the hour long drug prevention presentations as much as I enjoyed delivering them.

Metro Vancouver area drug prevention talks for high school kids will be given without charge for 2010. This offer is being made without qualification except these: any group or school will be limited to a maximum of one free day of talks per week and the talks will be addressed to classrooms of students.

Kids haven’t really figured out what emotions have to do with their motions or actions in achieving goals. But by helping kids connect the dots, setting goals and finding things that make one happy is an excellent crime and drug deterrent process.
